Q.  I put insulin in the freezer by mistake. Can I still use it?

A.  No. The insulin is suspended in a solution, thus the reason for insuring it is mixed well before each dose. Freezing the insulin solution will decrease the effectiveness of the product and even destroy the molecules.

If a vile of insulin accidentally freezes, it should be discarded and a fresh one used.
